Help A Fan Film Fan Win ‘Greatest Fear’ Contest!

amc-greatest-fearHere’s a chance to easily help out a fan film fan and filmmaker. The other day, I spoke about fan films at Five Towns College (which I’ll blog about later) and afterwards, I met student filmmaker Joe Pomarico. A talented guy, he’s currently a top runner in AMC’s “Greatest Fear” Video Contest, where people submitted 60-second horror films. Viewers vote for the finalists, and then the winner will be chosen by shock rocker/horror director Rob Zombie.

Pomarico’s flick has been drifting up and down the top 10, so take a minute (literally) to watch his flick and vote for a fellow fan film fanatic. You don’t have to fill anything out; just click one button (They’re tracking votes by IP addresses).

If Pomarico wins, he gets $4,000 and a chance for his video to be shown on AMC sometime in 2009 during Fear Friday. The top 10 finalists with the most votes will each win a DVD pack of horror movies.

His flick is a very slick little production, made under the gun ‘cause he only found out about the contest three days before the final video submission date. The lighting is creepy, and the acting is excellent (and before you say “whaaaa?” try writhing and grunting in a chair for 60 long seconds without getting insanely repetitive). Here’s hoping he takes it—and here’s also hoping that FCT readers can help him get there by voting.
